Make sure you run Setup.exe in compatibility mode for Windows 98. Only Windows 98 Compatibility mode is correct.

After doing all this, the following error occurs: Can not load aslo.dll.

Have you installed AsIoIns.exe from Io directory in compatibility mode for Windows 98 / Me? If you have chosen other compatibility mode it won't work and such error can occur. You can also try steps 2 and 3 with compatibility mode for windows 95.

Dual boot Windows 8 x64 CP and Win XP64 SP2

Followed your steps, but the installer setup.exe would not work in x64, and no choice for run as win98 compatible. (only for 32 bit win 8) I followed your other steps using xp compatibility, which installed the necessary local dlls, and now I can run the EPU program directly from the XP64 partition on the harddrive. Works perfect, shows on the taskbar, and I pinned it to startup. I hope this trick will help others with 64 bit boards.

Unfortunately this solution just doesn't work on Windows 8 Release Candidate. Many people reported that they weren't able to run Epu on W8 RC.

Thanks a lot! It works fine on a ASUS P5Q Deluxe win Windows 8 Release Preview. I am not sure if Step 2 and 3 are still necessary, but after a calibration the fan finally got quiet again.

In step 4 program AsAcpiIns.exe in folder ACPI 64 has no option for compatibility mode for Windows 98/ME.
My board is P7P55D.After restart gives message "Cannot load aslo.dll" and EAccess violation"

by the way. i have no release candidate. i have a full licensed version of windows 8 professional. its available for students now.

After performing the steps as indicated in the guide:
be sure to run once the file "AsloIns" in compatibility "windows 7". also do it 2 or 3 times in a row. then reboot.

DRIVER DOWNLOAD (http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_775/P5QC/#download) go to "Others" and download ASUS EPU-Six Engine V1.01.14 for Windows XP & 64bit XP & 32/64bit Vista & 32/64bit.

1. Run Setup.exe as administrator in compatibility mode for Windows 98 / ME

2. From Acpi64 folder (Acpi for x32 windows version) run AsAcpiIns.exe in compatibility mode for Windows 98 and then for Windows 7 as administrator.

System will restart by it self. Run the application, calibrate and that's all.

I have P5Q and i try all this and it doesn´t work , he said "Can not load aslo.dll"
i would like to try this again but i cant delete the installed file. i deinsall this, but it get the information that it´s running. Can any help me?

worked on a ASUS P5Q DeLuxe. thank you so much! now I need to find out how to disable UAC only for EPU-4... I disabled it compltely and I got a trojan in less then a minute... thanks to Microsoft antivirus...

NO such motherboard. You are probably using M4A785TD-V EVO.

I just installed Fan_Xpert_10013_Windows_XP_Vista_7 on 98/ME compatibility mode.

It did not work before on other compatibility modes.

The fan noise was driving me crazy. Many thanks!

What a relief, my computer is silent again - well done dude, quite an achievement. I used V10114_XPVistaWin7 only diff from the instruction is the last step, compatibility for 98 is not available. ASUS did let us down a little with not updating SixEngine - boooo !

Thank you for your comment. After reading posts from people who was installing Epu-4 enginge I conclude that they have taken drivers from ASUS page for Epu-4 and have followed 1-2-3-4 procedure. (according to Whyzzie)

Oiga Killer - you say you followed the 2-3-4-1 sequence but the EPU-4 download from ASUS doesn't have a AsSysCtrlService folder so I'm stumped as to how you carried out step 3.

Glamracket--glad it worked. Not sure why your download didn't have AsSysCtrlService. I just reinstalled Windows and had to reinstall EPU again and I do have AsSysCtrlService in the download.

OPTION 1 -----------for Windows 8.1/8 -----------

-Unzip EPU to Folder
-Run Setup.exe in program compatability Window 98/ME and choose run as Admin

This installs the EPU 6 Software

-Unzip Ati Suite Patcher
- Run Patcher Application (It asks for Automatic Reboot )
- Reboot and run Calibration on 1st run (if it does not do that already)

EPU 6 Working----------------------Ha Ha Ha

When installing the setup, it stops at 18% and says "EPU 6 engine does not support this model". I have windows 8.1 64 bit pro, my mobo is "Asus Crosshair V Formula" (990fx chipset amd).

Hi, it looks like EPU-6 it's working on my Asus P6T SE on Windows 8.1 x64. I've been checking with CPU-Z and the Core Speed and the Multiplier are changing but I still have doubts about the reliability of this installation.

Please, is there anybody with EPU-6 on Windows 8 during plenty of time to ensure that this is not dangerous for our CPU or motherboard?

Managed to get to work on P5QL-E. Tried and failed many times with version 1.01.17, worked first time with the version linked at top 1.03.04. I'm running x64 so ran AsAcpiIns.exe from Acpi64 in Win7 compatibility (only vista and above options available). Ran in the sequence 1-2-3-4. After option 1, opted not to restart, carried out 2-3-4. did not get forced restart after 4 so had to restart myself. EPU-6 started automatically after restart.

I have been successful using the original post protocol. My MB is Asus P7P55D-E Pro. My OS Clean Install of Win 8.1 and update Used EPU6 Ver 10302
The only difference I found was that after the last file was run I did not get an auto reboot. I manually rebooted and went in to the BIOS AI Tweaker set Asus as the controlling program

First of all, thanks for a great tutorial! I've tried both 1-2-3-4 and 2-3-4-1 methods on a P5Q PRO and Windows 8.1 and everything installs smoothly but I can't get EPU-6 to start automatically at startup. Task Manager and CCleaner are both showing that EPU-6 should run at startup but it doesn't. I have to run it manually every time after reboot which is very annoying. Any ideas?

Your EPU-6 enginge behavior is a bit strange. Do you get any error message?

If standard auto-launch procedure does not work then you have 2 options:
1. You can add shortcut to EPU-6 enginge .exe file to autostart folder (google for "windows 8 autostart")
2. Or add it to windows scheduler and set it to run after windows start

It's working for win 7 x64 also! Step order 2, 3, 4, 1.

Run every step on 98/ME compatibility as admin, except 4th step on Win 7 as admin.

what is the problem behind this error.when i try to install any asus utilities it returns an error "unsupported model" even my motherboard is listed for that utilities

Solution: is solved by putting aslo.dll , aslo.vxd , aslo32.sys , aslo64.sys the system 32 and 64; and opening the FourEgine.exe in compatibility mode win98 / me and running as admin

it install....it runs....but i guess that the low voltage 'crashes' the os, so i keep getting the blue screen of death (after a few freezes)....

any tip if this epu-6 will work on am3 motherboards?

Worked for me on P6X58D-E following the listed order of instructions.

Windows 10 64bit 21H2 release.

I did get the setup.exe to run as 98/ME and prompt for a restart before applying the other steps but I ignored that, did the rest and then rebooted. EPU-6 engine then started with Windows and prompted for first time use and did a calibration. It also appears the AUTO function does work too!

That good to hear progress has been made to make the software work again. What link do I need to click on as I'm running with Asus p6x58d-e on windows 10 22h2 I think. As for fan control software that can be got from github it works great for the board I have. I can set the fan and temperature curve based on core temp and additionally it can do the same for the GPU core which I have is evga gtx 1060 6gb sc single fan model. Only downside is lack of other softwares to control other parts of the system. As for down clocking to save power I use process lasso (paid) and power plan switch I think can be got from Microsoft store (free). As I can adjust each programs I use to power save automatically or forced and certain programs I can balance power or high power applied depending on my mood using the process lasso in order to save electricity as much as I can

Found this as well This product driver can not be installed into Windows Server OS, need edit the ini file under the dirver folder.

Make sure you are getting MB168B+, not MB168B (no plus). MB168B (no plus) is not a Full HD monitor, and the display quality is a little poor. However MB160B+ is a great product as a portable Full HD Monitor.

But the setup gave me a hard time.
This monitor will not work only by connecting it to USB cable. you will need to install the driver. But when I run this driver, I got below error message:

"Motherboard Support CD does not support this operating system (WNT_6.2I_64)"
"Error Does not support this Operating System : WNT_6.2I_64"

I think this is because I am using a Windows Server 2012 R2 system (don't ask me why use a server OS on notebook, I believe most people consider this product is for a business travel purpose, some of them, like me, use Server OS).

I called ASUS technical support, downloaded their newest driver version for win8.1, but still get the same error.
after 3 hours troubleshooting, I resolved this error by adding a line to .ini file.
as below:

Edit below ini file:

"\EZlink_0616\Software\Ezlink\AsusSetup.ini"
"\EZlink_0616\Bin\Ascdinst.ini"
"\EZlink_0616\Manual\AsusSetup.ini"

Add a row into the file:

And rerun the setup again. Then no error message anymore, I finally setup this monitor successfully, and so far, the monitor is working perfectly
I believe this solution is good for other non-official supported OS version too (like windows server 2008).
I hope this comment can help other people who is considering this product.. For possible reason why it won't work in windows 10 due to some important strings missing resulting the stalling of the installation
